GTC 2013: Valve in the process of porting the Source Engine on Linux, Android in sight

valve

March was lent this 8217; # & all year # 8217; & alternation of many fairs of 8217; # & Electronics: in addition to see the end of the MWC, started the last days of February, this month was also Theatre of Pax East, a trade fair dedicated to video games (we just mentioned about Dungeon Hunter 4 ), and will arrive in a few days the GDC, a & # 8217; other always fair dedicated to video games. But meanwhile, in San Jose, a & # 8217; other great fair takes place: GTC â€" GPU Technology Conference.

The GTC has already been by self in these pages , but the fact is that this time the main character is a software house that definitely doesn't need many presentations: Valve Corporation. If Valve had already talked about in 8217; # & last period thanks to 8217; # & arrival of Steam on Linux, in occasion of the GTC it seems that the software house is biased about its willingness to bring your own graphics engine, the Source Engine, on Linux. And what is our interest as Android, until proven otherwise, has its own based on Linux Kernel.

Even according to Valve, once bypassed the Linux porting issues of Source Engine, problems associated with most AMD drivers that NVIDIA, gaming market on tablets and smartphones will have practically the doors wide open. Maybe it's too early to tell, but imagine half-life or counter-strike (though in reality this & # 8217; last already we played on Android ) on display of our devices is a great satisfaction. Who will live will see!
