OUYA: hands-on final version

ouya engadget 1

Are about 50000 lucky & #; 8220 8221; # & lenders of the first console OUYA & # 8220;Tegra-powered Android & # & 8221; born from a project on Kickstarter, who manage to get their hands on # & 8217; ambitious project. The 8220; # & backer & # 8221; they cannot have it until June (as! You're not even gone to 8217; # & look on amazon.it Run! ) but, com # & 8217; it was obvious, arrive already first hands-on. They are colleagues from Engadget today offer us an overview on console hardware/software, giving us a rich photo gallery of small console and its largest Playmate, the wireless bluetooth controller.

From first impressions, the gamepad looks really solid in the hand, with a good grip and materials that do not appear to be cheap; both the buttons that analog sticks work properly and are perfectly manoeuvrable. L 8217; # & only problem, that of gentlemen, the so-called & # buttons 8220; 8220; # & triggers, which are completely opposites and maneuverability that for materials, compared to the rest of the controller.

The front and rear Center can be removed in a single block, and is the location where housing are two stylus. Apparently in the future it may be possible to purchase customizable templates. The controller is an excellent addition to the console: because bluetooth controller can be used with any device with bluetooth receiver. D 8217; & # the other hand, it is also possible to use any wireless controllers that use the bluetooth connection, such as Sony (DualShock 3) or that Microsoft (just that you'll have to invade 8217; # & USB input with # 8217; & controller accessory), to play with OUYA.

The console is incredibly small: half the size of the pad almost! And 8217; # & However, as the # 8217; & have called colleagues, very dense & #; # & 8220 8220;: it is basically a small but heavy box, think thus also intentionally to support all cables that are going to fit. Incredibly silent also, without no disk all # 8217; & internally and with a small fan that rarely turns to dust. L 8217; # & glazed aluminium which is composed of the outer shell increases the value and make it a visually perfect object.

L 8217; # & GUI instead OUYA software looks a little # & 8217; Gaunt, only four submenus: Play, Discover, Make and Manage. Manage menu you have access to all those settings typical of Android, Android style graphics, which will be replaced in the future by a perhaps & # 8217; custom interface. In Play we will find all of our applications and games, and essentially a sort of file manager.

Discover is perhaps the most interesting: submenu is practically the 8220; # & place & # 8221; where we will find the content available. Not only allows you to see items organized by category and also the 8220; # & games featured 8220; # &, but also highlights the latest games so they can slowly make their way to glory: a way for developers to highlight their creations.

Pity though that there is a lag between OUYA problem and the controller itself, both in UI that in some games, and more than one journalist has complained. Nothing impossible to solve, of course, considering that from here to June c 8217; # & is time to remedy these problems with software updates. The judgement of colleagues is more positive and we are sure that, like them, that from here to June OUYA could become a solid reality in the panorama of Android gaming.
