Shaqdown: the return of Shaq in the world play video [review]

unnamed

Longtime gamers surely will remember that title that on Super Nintendo and Sega Mega Drive was much talked about, not so much for its quality, but because the strange fantasy of its authors. We're talking Shaqfu, a title she saw stars Shaquille O'Neal, the famous and much-loved former professional basketball player. As Shaq, we had to fight various opponents of another dimension (including Mummies and other strange creatures).

Still, Shaqfu is remembered as one of the worst games ever created because of the many flaws that rendered the title virtually unplayable.

After nearly twenty years, Shaq back in the world of video games by Shaqdown. What will make this time the great basketball player Find it with us.

Zombies and Basket Balls in one act

Shaq will fight against zombies for three (short) levels.

In a post-apocalyptic future, zombies have imprisoned (Yes, you read that right) the entire human race due to a virus that makes them very powerful. And just when the last glimmer of hope you are dissipating, this is Shaquille O'Neal, that Saif style will make an appearance.

The first match, the initial impact is fluctuating. The title is a good art direction with respect to Shaq and enemies, in fact, all the characters are drawn by the wise hand of Long Vo, one of the most talented artists of Street Fighter. Unfortunately we can't say the same about gaming environments, very bare and devoid of characterization.

But we come to the most important part of each game, the gameplay. Shaqdown looks like a simple side-scroller and our aim is to make your way through the internship on 3 different platforms. We can move to the landing on the landing through the simple swipe up or down on the touch screen, and each of these landings will be constipated of monsters.

The controls will also be simple, but we can assure you that in this addictive title non ce n 8217; # & is trace.

Shaq can heave a basketball ball to eliminate the zombies, or simply you will be able to change the landing to Dodge monsters. Every zombie killed will load a bar located at the bottom of the screen. When the indicator is at most, by pressing the reset button, you will be able to perform a super move that will allow you to kill all zombies present on the platform.

Free Thrown! Free Thrown! Free Thrown!

We would like to say that only now is a Shaqfu ugly and old memories, but unfortunately it doesn't. Giriamoci not around, Shaqdown is simply a boring game. The gameplay will consist only in changing the landing until that emerges end level boss, the latter accompanied by fighting is nothing short of embarrassing. Zombies, portrayed as real war machines, they will provide us while we properties run in hopes of saving mankind. Not to mention that the mighty Shaq will be defeated only with any zombie impact.

Don't be fooled by the pictures: the boss fight are perhaps the 8217; # & less successful aspect of production. And considering the overall quality of the title # & 8230;

The only available connection (by removing the super move) is perhaps one of the most boring ever seen on a mobile game. Each touch on touch screens, Shaq will pull a ball screaming "Free Thrown!". Whereas it is the only attack available, you'll be forced to press the touch screen over and over again, listening to the usual "Free Thrown!" hundreds of times. Of course until the volume switch off prey to nervous attacks.

A 8217; # & games offer for anything challenging

unnamed (5)

The few available powers are not that fantastic & # 8220; & # 8221;.

The game is divided into two modes. The story mode is divided into short 3 levels, with a story on the edge of credibility, full of ridiculous scenes (not made on purpose) and that will make you regret the 0,75€ needed to purchase the game on Play Store. There is also a survival mode, only available after completing story mode.

The costly upgrade system which will enable us through the game currency (nicely named Shaqra) to unlock new modes (understood as clothes for Shaq) will modify slightly the difficulty of the game. In addition, to further undermine the title we think the usual in-app purchases, totally out of place.

Conclusion

Shaqdown is an obscene. The gameplay is dull, the story exudes stupidity from all pores and the whole thing is supported by a rugged upgrade system, which requires many hours of play before you buy something. The only positive aspect of the production is the artistic director of the characters but our advice is to stay away regardless of love trying to Shaq.

Adrenaline: Sound sleep causes more adrenaline than this title.
1/10
Playability: Monotonous and sleep-inducing as ever.
3/10
Graphics: Good characterization of the (few) characters drawn, disappointing the settings.
7/10
Sound:  Any music or sound effect has been dwarfed by the boring "Free Thrown!" of shots of Shaq.
3/10
Longevity: Three short levels for story mode and a survival mode steeped in boredom.
3/10
Price: A title created specifically to take advantage of the reputation of the big Shaq. Would have a minimum sense if it had been free.

Overall rating: 3/10
