the conduit interview kevin header

The Conduit HD is the most recent purchase of playground available to the Tegra NVIDIA zones, a first person shooter featuring an intriguing story and a revamped graphics engine (compared to the version for Nintendo Wii) arrived on Play Google Store exclusively for devices with Tegra SoC.

Thanks to NVIDIA, we managed to interview the manufacturer of The Conduit HD, Kevin Sheller, former Senior Producer of Conduit 2, with a series of questions that soon we will see together. Obviously the 8217; # & interview was held in English, but there will a & #; # & Italianized 8220 8221; of the facts.

Before you start with the questions, we would like to specify that earlier interview Kevin there announced & # 8217; the arrival of an update already in the next few days (hopefully) that will solve graphical bugs that some users have experienced. We then all 8217; # & interview!

Q: why have you chosen the Tegra platform to bring your game on Android

conduit quotes: well, the technology offered by NVIDIA platform is definitely strong and is very simple to implement a game that exploits; also offered us a Tegra hardware even more powerful than the Nintendo Wii, allowing us to increase graphic effects and improve the texture of the game.

Q: the game is at the moment a & #; exclusive Tegra 8217; you are going to run it on other platforms (e.g. Snapdragon N.d.R.)

A: at the moment we are focused in collaboration with NVIDIA, but in a future we don't.

Q: about your collaboration with NVIDIA, you have some project in the works for the future that will involve the new Tegra SoC 4 and the console Project Shield

A: we'll see in the future, at the moment we cannot tell you much. It will be a surprise!

Q: what are the main differences between the version that was released on the Nintendo Wii and one dedicated to Tegra devices

A: as we made a video comparison very explanatory. However, the NVIDIA chip enabled us to increase the resolution of textures, to improve the geometry of the subjects, increasing the size of the hands and arms of the protagonist, which are closer to the camera, and also to add more # & 8220; # & light paths 8221; which allowed us to add more lighting effects and shadows.

Q: you've gone from a game made for a real console game dedicated to devices with touch screens. As there appeared

To: Develop for devices touch has not been a big problem. The Wii we had offered an innovative platform, something that the other consoles couldn't offer us, thanks to its control system based on the Wiimote. The same thing goes for tablets and Smartphones. Even in this case we offered an innovative control system that adapts to the needs of the player. The system is fully customizable (you can change the # & 8217; entire interface by moving the buttons) and introduces some new features.

Moving to a new development platform, the first thing we did was try to see what they had to offer the other FPS on the mobile market. We therefore decided to offer something new, excluding the screen some of the classic buttons. Absent such as buttons for launching grenades and firing with l # & 8217; weapon: the first is replaced by a gesture with swipe and the second is completely automated. As soon as the enemy is in the viewfinder and in the range of fire, 8217; # & automatically weapon will fire the shot. What we tried to do is revolutionizing the FPS control system on tablet, and I wouldn't be surprised if other software house adopt this strategy.

Q: are you going to introduce a game mode in multiplayer (N.d.R. the question arises from the great success of the multiplayer mode on Wii title.)

A: there would affect much, but this depends largely on the success that the game will have.

Q: many developers are worried by the spread of illegal copies of titles. You are concerned by piracy Have had some feedback about

A: No, no feedback; We are not particularly worried, since I did sell a quality product.

Q: what do you think about in-app purchases

A: in-app purchases in The Conduit HD are different from the classic ones that are seen in many games for mobile platform, and offer something that can increase the overall fun or even offer a finale for those who just can't finish the game with their forces.

Q: do you plan to bring Conduit 2 on Android

A: the answer is the same of the question concerning the multiplayer, however we'd much!

Q: A 8217; # & last question: why Android and iOS.

A: we think the market offered by Android for the field of First Person Shooter is better than Apple, also regarding the games # & 8220; # & traditional 8221; and those for consoles, due mainly to the different audience and capabilities offered by 3 Tegra SoC, a platform strong enough to enable us to introduce the game. A classic situation & # 8220; win-win # & 8220;!

Q: A & # 8217; latest question! What do you think about OUYA

A: A very interesting platform! We're taking d & # 8217; # & 8230 eye;

Q: thanks for the chat Kevin!

To: thank you!

We would like to thank NVIDIA again Kevin Sheller for this opportunity. In the hope that this interview was to your liking, we leave you, if you were lost, with a link to our full review of The Conduit.
